From Sydney Airport: 18 km - 30 minutes by car
From the closest railway station (Wynyard): 1 km - 8 minutes' walk 
From the Overseas Passenger Terminal: 1.5 km - 10 minutes' walk 
From the ferry terminal: 1.5 km - 10 minutes' walk

The price from the airport is approximately AUD$55 one way.

The price from/to the airport is approximately AUD$13-15 one way.

Transfers to the CBD
A complimentary luxury vehicle drop-off service is available to all in-house guests between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 am, Monday to Friday, from The Observatory Hotel to anywhere within the central business district.

Directions: 
From Kingsford Smith Airport to The Observatory Hotel:

Depart the terminal and turn right on to Airport Drive. Travel along Qantas Drive onto Joyce Drive and then onto General Holmes Drive 
Turn left onto Mill Pond Road
Travel onto Southern Cross Drive.  Travel along this drive for around five minutes
Move onto the right-hand lanes on South Dowling Street before entering the Eastern Distributor
Travel along the Eastern Distributor for five minutes, looking for the City North Exit
Take City North Exit (Toll of AUD$5.50 is payable)
Turn right onto Macquarie Street
Turn left onto Bridge St and follow this road until you reach George Street
Turn right onto George Street and left up the hill to Grosvenor Street
Turn left onto York Street at the top of the hill
Take the first right into Jamison Street and then turn right into Clarence Street
Stay to the left and turn right onto Kent Street (This is signposted.  Be aware that if you miss this exit you will travel over the Harbour Bridge)         
Travel 300 meters down Kent Street. The Observatory Hotel is on the left, opposite the Miller’s Point Tennis Court.

 
Accommodation

Spacious, elegant, beautifully appointed, the rooms and suites at The Observatory Hotel are designed to meet the needs of the most fastidious guest.

The hotel offers 75 deluxe rooms, 8 Junior Suites, 12 One Bedroom Suites and the Presidential Suite, with some suites and rooms interconnecting. Three ground-floor rooms have been adapted for the convenience of disabled guests.

Bathrooms feature heated towel rails and some with separate showers, and every room has touch-control air conditioning, as well as sash windows to allow cool harbour breezes to circulate. Each room has detachable hairdryers, iPod Dock and movies on demand, CD and video players (a wide selection of CDs is available from the CD Library), international news service on demand, as well as fax/modem facilities, voicemail and four telephones.

The Globe Bar & Brasserie offers a selection of contemporary Australian dishes, ideal for a light lunch or post-theatre supper. Globe Bar & Brasserie also offers one of Sydney most renowned Afternoon Teas.
