Swimming Pool |
At the time of its construction 14 years ago, the exquisite pool was the biggest underground facility of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. Today, it remains one of Australia’s most alluring indoor pool facilities.
Its simple rectangular lines sit elegantly beneath a magnificent domed ceiling that resembles a brilliant Southern Hemisphere sky filled with twinkling stars – a fibre optic display that captures the vast openness of the Australian sky. The configuration of the stars has been based on old astronomy charts for the month of November.
There are hundreds of stars of four different sizes. A fibre optic tube links these. A plate, which sits between the light and fibre optic nest, creates the twinkling – heat causes it to rotate and create the flickering effect.
